Busy Minion News - Week of March 28
This Week We started our week with a really great trip
to the NH State House and NH History Museum.
We all enjoyed the tours and learned a lot about NH government and
history. It was neat to check out the
actual rooms where our state officials work and we also loved looking at some
wonderful artifacts from our state’s history.
This week, we also worked on poetry about the aurora borealis, aka the
Northern Lights. We will be publishing
little books of our poetry. We also
started multiplying fractions and working with line plots in Math, and we did a
science investigation about bird beaks.
We continued to make progress on our super hero publishing.
Next
Week We will read the
story, “Roadrunner’s Dance,” in Literacy.
Since Unit 5 in Math is a really quick one, we will spend a couple of
days reviewing the skills and then take the assessment. We will continue working on super hero
publishing and hopefully begin to think about ideas for our NH Cups video. We will finish anything left to be done on
our Northern Lights poetry books, and do a quick Picturing Writing project on
birds, to extend our science investigation on bird beaks.

The Beatles are the BOMB! So much fun!
What a successful Beatles concert again this year! It was amazing!
Oh what fun "Hello, Goodbye" was!!! (Photo cred to Pellegrini Family!)
Busy Minion News - Week of March 21
This Week We got back into our regular routine this
week. We read the story “A Walk in the
Desert,” and learned many facts about the desert biome. We finished Unit 4 in Math – and mostly did a
great job on the assessment on adding and subtracting fractions and mixed
numbers. We also spent the week
preparing for our Beatles concert. WOW,
what a great job they did! A huge “Thank
You” to Mr. Hazelton for organizing another wonderful, memorable concert! We also got all set up on Google drive to
start publishing our Super Hero stories and we made an amazing amount of
progress on them! We also found time to
finish our animal classification projects and learn about NH state government
in preparation for our field trip on Monday.
Friday Clubs also started today – and those will be 4 great weeks of
FUN!
Next
Week We will start the week with our field trip to
the NH State House and NH History Museum on Monday. Remember to dress neatly, ‘professionally,’
and be ready to meet important NH officials!
Manners are a must! In Literacy next
week, we will work on a Picturing Writing story. (Truth is…I can’t decide if they will be aurora
borealis (northern lights in Alaska) stories or desert stories. I’ll put up a “Survey” on the blog and you
can vote. Most votes wins and voting
will end Sunday night!) We will begin
working on multiplying fractions with Unit 5 in Math and we should be able to
get through those skills pretty quickly!
We will continue working on publishing our Super Hero stories. We will also be starting to study life cycles
in Science.

Publishing Super Hero Stories with Google Drive
Our technology teacher, Ms. Biller, helped us each get set up with Google drive so we can publish our Super Hero stories! Using Google, we will be able to sign in to work on our documents, while allowing Mrs. Beaudet to edit and comment through out the process. We were excited to learn our documents will save automatically! We made huge progress on our very first day and we are so excited to see this project (that we've been working on since the fall) finally coming together! We see the light at the end of the tunnel! Power of super sight - must be!
