Owl News - September 25

This Week  Our last full week of September is in the books!  Things are running along a little more smoothly and we are making good progress!  We did well starting Chapter 2 in Math and we are busy working with numbers and place value in the hundreds.  In ELA, we created nice pieces of writing in our journals about cool things we found in the garden.  We are really getting the hang of writing our paragraphs.  We made it to Washington, DC with our adventure with Paddington.  We so far have learned about the White House.  We have also finished up with our Dibels reading testing and are making good progress practicing our handwriting penmanship as well.

Next Week  In ELA, we will read the story of “Meet Rosina” and start an new journal story.   In Math, we will continue working Chapter 2 where we will have lessons on numbers up to 1,000: place value, number names, and the different forms of numbers.  Paddington’s Adventures will bring us to a couple more cool places in Washington, DC.

Did you Know? Every Wednesday is Happy Wednesday!  We are making a book of all the things that make us happy.  We were inspired by the book “14,000 Things To Be Happy About.”
